After so many fragrant impressions and unique views, you deserve a special reward for completing this stage in our Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. Stop at the “Måtl Sepp“ mountain inn. Bask in the afternoon sunshine. Now revive tired hiking legs with an extraordinary Speick foot bath. Fresh mountain spring water cools your legs. Your feet are then cosseted with Speick soap. The pleasant scent of the Speick soap is both soothing and relaxing! Finally, dip your feet into the cool water once more – a pampering experience that revitalises the whole body. And so that the tingling sensation isn’t just in your legs, we serve you a fine Carinthian Mosecco.
The final stage back to Bad Kleinkirchheim
The final leg of the hike starts at around 1,557 metres above sea level. Follow a forest path through a larch and pine forest towards Hundsfeldscharte. After around 20 minutes you reach the Hundsfeldscharte. Take a little time and enjoy the magnificent views of the Nockberge Mountains.
After another further 20 minutes you reach the Falkert summit cross. The highest point of this stage, Rödresnock, lies at 2310 metres above sea level. From here, the path leads across gentle Alpine pastures to Schwarzkofel and on to Moschelitzenalm. Hike through forests with old larch and pine trees to the finishing point, the “Måtl Sepp” mountain inn.
The original route continues via field tracks and asphalted farm roads back to Bad Kleinkirchheim. A spring, already documented in medieval times and to which healing properties have been ascribed since time immemorial, flows through the crypt beneath St. Kathrein Church. The road into the centre of the village takes you directly to the finishing point of today’s stage, which is the tourist information office in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
